Travel
You might think of Philadelphia as place of history, museums, and the Liberty Bell, but Philly is much more diverse than that! If you get tired of walking downtown streets filled with gorgeous old buildings and yes, museums, venture out of the city and experience a Japanese garden, hike one of the largest woodlands in Chester County, or stop by Longwood Gardens to smell the plants and flowers behind iconic perfumes! Then sample the local fare, from farmer to table, via Philly Homegrown. Don’t miss the Reading Terminal Market! Directly across from the Pennsylvania Convention Center is the historic Reading Terminal Market. The market offers baked goods, meats, poultry, seafood, produce, flowers, ethnic foods, cookware, and eclectic restaurants. Monday-Saturday, 8 am-6 pm. Visit the official Philadelphia Visitors site for a hub of great information on Philly events and attractions. Map out your trip of Philadelphia and the region, including walking maps and public transit. Did you know Philadelphia is the “Mural Capital of the World”? Visit Mural Arts Program page to find out about tours of these great works of art! Visit the Transportation page for helpful links on getting around Philadelphia and the area, and check out our Tours to make your visit even more memorable.
