Program Networking Lounges
These cozy, comfy gathering zones are for like-minded attendees to connect on a variety of issues and topics. If you have a great tip, resource, or strategy to share, visit the schedulers located in each lounge and sign-up to give a quick presentation. You can also just hang out, recharge your various devices, and watch a simulcast or two. All lounges except the Leadership Lounge are located in the Sails Pavilion.
Advocacy Lounge
Drop by the Ed Tech Action Network (ETAN) booth and make your voice heard by sending an email and video to the U.S. Congress on the importance of classroom technology. Attend an advocacy regional meetup to discuss the latest regional (including non-U.S.) policy and learn from winners of the ISTE Public Policy Advocate and Advocacy Trendsetter awards.
Bloggers' Café
Featuring a gathering place for blogging, tweeting, and face-to-face conversations. Make connections and expand your personal learning network! Also the home of ISTE Unplugged, both hosted by Classroom 2.0.
ISTE Unplugged
Featuring informal presentations where anyone attending ISTE can sign up to present. Visit isteunplugged.com for a list or events or to sign up.
Global Connections Lounge
For attendees coming from around the globe, this lounge is your place to find out about conference sessions and activities with a global perspective, plus resources about San Diego, including currency exchange, dining, shopping, nightlife, and other international services information. Multilingual staff and materials will be available. Saturday, 12–6 pm; Sunday, 12–8 pm; Monday–Tuesday, 9 am–6 pm; Wednesday, 9 am–3 pm
Leadership Lounge
Looking to connect with other school and district administrators and CTOs who want to maximize the effectiveness of ed tech? Come learn, network, and get information on ISTE’s Leadership Conference at the Leadership Lounge located in the Technology Infrastructure Pavilion (TIP) in the Exhibit Hall. Hosted by ISTE’s SIGAdmin and SIGTC.
Newbie Lounge
Need help for navigating your first ISTE conference? Discover how to find the best sessions to meet your needs, figure out how to use your conference planner, pair up with a mentor, or find a lunch partner. Visit the Newbie Lounge micro site.
Social Butterfly Lounge
The Social Butterfly Lounge is your place to learn how to maximize your knowledge of various social media tools and to get specific assistance connecting with the tools and communities that are most active onsite at ISTE 2012. ISTE Affiliate CUE, Inc will be hosting our lounge this year, providing volunteer mentors and mini-lessons throughout the conference. The lounge is open during most active conference hours, but will be staffed during the below times:
Sunday, 3:30–5 pm; 7–8 pm; Monday–Tuesday, 9 am–3 pm; Wednesday, 9 am–1:30 pm
